“Maggiri” is an artisan pasta producer, dedicated to tradition.Our family’s mission is to offer you pure and high-quality pasta, usingCretan ingredients. Our recipes simply have the best fresh eggs , goat’s and sheep’s milk from our local producers or they just have flour and water(vegan-friendly) depending on the type of pasta.
“Maggiri” was the name of an old Cretan pasta which was cooked in a very specific way: Half of it was boiled, the other half fried and then stirred together and served like a thick soup with a lot of cheese on top.
Every time we knead our pasta we hope that the new generations of pasta lovers will discover the real taste of our traditional Cretan pastaand the older generation will continue to enjoy the flavours that remind them of their childhood.
We let our pasta todry for many hours at low temperature and that’s how we achieve delicious and nutricious pasta.
We have a big variety of pasta shapes and special flavors including swivels with Cretan herbs, noodles with carob flour, fusilli with Cretan ricotta cheese (anthotyros) and orzo with vegetables so you can taste the whole of Crete in one bite!
